Every confident driver started with a wobble.
Patient, encouraging lessons from instructors who've taught hundreds of nervous learners to relax behind the wheel — and pass.
Lessons built around your nerves, not our schedule.
We hear it a lot: "I'm not a natural." Neither was anyone, at first. Here's how we make the early wobbles feel manageable.
Instructors who don't rush
Every instructor is picked for patience as much as their DVSA grade. No sighing, no rushing you off the driveway before you're ready.
Lessons near home
We start and finish where it's convenient — your house, your college, your workplace — across Felixstowe, Ipswich, Woodbridge and the villages between.
A pace that's actually yours
Flexible single lessons or block bookings, so you can build confidence at a speed that suits you, not a fixed course timetable.
Felixstowe to Woodbridge, and everywhere between.
Coastal roundabouts, town-centre traffic, quiet villages, the A14 — our instructors know the roads your test route is likely to use.

A small team you'll actually get to know.
Get to know the people behind Drive Suffolk — a small, friendly team covering the coast and countryside between them.

Jane Erskine
Jane is the newest team member to join Drive Suffolk, but don't let "newest" fool you — she brings many years of her own driving experience to every lesson, and a calm, unhurried manner that puts nervous learners at ease from the first minute in the car. She covers Felixstowe, Ipswich and the surrounding areas, and is happy to start lessons from home, school or work.

Tony Duke
Tony brings years of both driving and instructing experience to his lessons, and that experience shows in how relaxed his pupils feel behind the wheel. He covers Woodbridge, Rendlesham and the surrounding villages, and takes pride in building his learners' confidence steadily, lesson by lesson, right through to test day.

Inez Banfield
Inez brings years of driving experience across both cars and buses, giving her a real depth of road knowledge that shows in every lesson. She's known among pupils for being especially patient, and specialises in automatic tuition across Felixstowe, Ipswich and Woodbridge — a great choice if you'd rather leave the clutch out of it altogether.

Gvidas Bytautas
Gvidas is based in Hollesley and is now accepting bookings from October 2026 onwards. If you're looking to start lessons in or around Hollesley, get in touch to secure your slot early — spaces with him are expected to fill up fast.

Anthony Dadswell
Anthony is based centrally in Kesgrave, which puts him in easy reach of learners right across the Drive Suffolk patch — from Felixstowe to Woodbridge and beyond. Wherever you're starting from, he's well placed to fit lessons around you and get you comfortable on the local roads you'll know for your test.

Before you book
I'm really nervous — is that a problem?
Not at all — it's exactly who we specialise in teaching. Your first lesson is about getting comfortable with the car and the controls, not diving into traffic.
Which areas do you cover?
Felixstowe, Ipswich, Woodbridge and the villages in between. If you're just outside these areas, ask — we may still be able to help.
Can I choose my instructor?
Yes. We'll match you with an instructor based on your location and preferences, and you're welcome to request someone specific.
Ready for your first lesson?
Tell us a bit about yourself and we'll match you with an instructor near you.
